Considerations When "Sharenting" on Social Media

Many parents may not have considered how their own online behavior may be playing a role in their children’s digital footprint. In fact, many parents often unknowingly participate in a behavior known as “Sharenting.” Sharenting is a word used to describe when a parent, guardian, or other care giver shares and transmits information and images of their children on social media.

What Parents Need to Know About Social-Emotional Development

Many parents have heard the term “social-emotional development,” but what does it mean in the real world? Put simply, social-emotional development refers to children’s ability to “experience, manage and express” their feelings, build relationships and actively explore their environment, according to a 2005 report from the nonprofit Zero to Three.

Many Marijuana Vendors Aim Advertising at Kids: Study

US News & World Report

Despite state laws restricting such marketing, researchers found marijuana retailers on social media promoting their wares with posts that:

  • Featured cartoon characters like Snoopy, SpongeBob SquarePants, and Rick and Morty.
  • Presented store-branded merchandise like caps and T-shirts.
  • Offered discounts and deals, like a Memorial Day sale or a regular Friday special.

Mark Boozell

Accountant

Mark joined Candor Health Education as their Accountant in July of 2020.  Prior to joining Candor Health Education, Mark worked as Controller for The Sureway Group, a manufacturing company in Franklin Park.  Mark graduated with his Bachelor of Science degree from Eastern Illinois University (where he met his wife Karen, an educator for over 35 years) and then went on to earn his MBA from Keller Graduate School of Management.  Mark is a parent to two sons who both attended Candor Health Education programs.
